Yamaha
The roots of the Yamaha Motor Company go back to 1887, when Torakusu Yamaha founded a company to manufacture musical instruments. This developed into the joint stock company Nippon Gakki (literally "Japan Musical Instruments") in 1897 and later into the Yamaha Corporation. The company logo of Yamaha Motor with the three tuning forks, which is derived from the logo of the Yamaha Corporation, is still a reminder of Yamaha's original business field.
